Entrance
The disabled entrance is located on the left hand side of the building adjacent to disabled parking, and the reception desk with a low level counter located directly ahead of this entrance. No queuing is involved for disabled visitors.
Wheelchair Service
There are five wheelchairs available to hire free of charge (one of which is electric). We also have a variety of walking aids including rollaters. This service is not pre-bookable. Please request this service at The Deep reception desk on arrival.
Carers
Essential carers are admitted free of charge.
Toilets
There are disabled toilets with emergency call alarms available at each level of the building. For visitors who require a larger area for changing, a first aid room is available on request.


The Deep is well catered for visitors with disabilities and additional needs. Visitors who wish to discuss their requirements further please call 01482 381000 (option 3) Monday to Saturday 9am – 5pm.
Information for Visitors Who are Visually Impaired
For visitors with a visual impairment, audio guides are available from reception free of charge. The Deep Guiding Team are able to produce extra tactile exhibits which can be handled to enhance the visitor experience. All lifts have audio advice on floor level.
Guide dogs are welcome.
Information for Visitors Who are Deaf or Hard Of Hearing
There is a vast amount of information within the exhibition that is purely visual in content. Visitors with hearing difficulties are also able to obtain a printed copy of The Deep audio guide from reception.
Hearing assistance dogs are welcome.
Basic signing is available with suitable advance notice.
Induction loops can be found at The Deep reception, till points with the gift shop and also in the conference suite in the Learning Centre. Personal induction loops are also available to hire free of charge at reception. Please note that these are not pre-bookable and available on a first come first served basis.
Information for Visitors with Limited Mobility and Wheelchair Users
The Deep is based on three levels all of which are accessible by lift. The route, which you will take around the attraction, is gently sloped and accessible for wheelchair users.
Visitors in large motorised wheelchairs may find that one lift (located in Deep Blue One) may be too small. Another lift, not available to the general public can be used. Please contact a guide who will accompany you to use this route.
There is limited seating available within the exhibition.
Parking
Disabled parking is adjacent to the visitor reception and is free of charge for blue badge holders.
