Welcome to Learning at The Deep

The Deep is an educational and environmental charity presenting a wide range of exciting and innovative learning opportunities for both school and colleges. The Deep has won numerous awards including UK's Best Aquarium, Best Family Attraction and its education programme has been graded as excellent by the Department of Education.

Over the last year a record breaking 22,000 students took part in workshops and presentations at The Deep’s learning centre. The learning programme is delivered year round to groups from pre-school to post sixteen and beyond.

For school pupils our in-house teachers have created a learning programme encompassing a broad range of subjects. We provide carefully structured workshops, giving hands-on experience and raising awareness of the marine environment. All sessions are closely referenced to the National Curriculum.

Key Stage 4 and post-16 students can learn from The Deep’s successful management team who offer presentations on subjects including Customer Care, Marketing and Travel & Tourism.

All learning sessions are complemented by time to browse The Deep’s award-winning displays. Free teacher preview visits and fully downloadable resources are available. Educational groups also benefit from onsite coach parking and attractive discounted rates.
