Science: Slime Time!     NEW FOR 2007-08

Find out how animals use slime to survive, then make your own slime and test its properties for yourself. This practical hands-on workshop examines materials and their properties and links with science work on both changes of state and animal adaptation. This session is aimed at older KS2 pupils but could also be used for less able pupils in lower KS3.

We can only offer a limited number of slime sessions each day, so please book well in advance.

Art & Design/Science: Hide and Seek

How can a creature hide in the middle of the sea? This cross-curricular workshop allows pupils to use their knowledge of colour, pattern & shape to create a portrait of their own camouflaged creature. This practical session has strong links with KS2 science work on adaptation.

Art & Design: Underwater Gardens

Investigate the colourful world of the coral reef and take a closer look at the amazing creatures who live there. This multi-activity workshop explores the visual elements of colour, shape, form, texture and pattern.

Design & Technology/Maths: Deep Designers

English: A Fisherman’s Tale

Take a step back in time - and a voyage on the ‘The Silver Cod’! Meet Jack, on his first fishing trip on board a Hull trawler in August 1965.  This learning session allows KS2 pupils to investigate story openings, characters and dialogue through discussion and role-play.
