The Deep is an education and conservation charity and, as such, research and conservation are central to our operation.
We undertake and support numerous activities both in house and in partnership with other organisations. All of our research and conservation projects are concerned with the aquatic environment. You can see find out more about our current schemes and past schemes in this section.
The Deep undertakes regular initiatives to raise public awareness of Marine Conservation campaigns, concentrating on all aspects of marine life. These projects are of national and global significance. You too can help make a difference, from choosing sustainable seafood to getting involved in our annual beach clean.
Did you know?
We have launched an exciting new product called 'The Deep Experience'. This is ideal for those with a love of marine life to spend a morning doing some of the jobs our aquarists would do. This includes cleaning out tanks, preparing food and feeding some of our smaller animals and a behind the scenes tour taking in some of our plant rooms and quarantine. This exciting package costs just £75 (children under 16 MUST be accompanied by an adult at all times).
