One Less Campaign
In 2017, The Deep joined a nationwide campaign to reduce the number of single use water bottles in circulation.
#OneLess, led by the Zoological Society of London (ZSL) is a movement of pioneering individuals and companies trying to prevent plastic bottles entering our oceans where they harm marine life, spoil coastlines and damage livelihoods.
Since joining the campaign, The Deep has removed all single use plastic water bottles from sale and, where possible, swapped other branded drinks for fully recyclable cans or cartons. We have installed a water fountain to encourage staff and visitors alike to re-fill a bottle rather than buying a new one and have increased our range of reusable bottles in the Deep-artment Store so that visitors have lots of options. We have also created a brand new display in our Cool Seas Zone showing the impact that plastics have on our oceans.
We want you to join us and make single use plastic a thing of the past so make your pledge here and join the refill revolution!
- Globally, millions of single-use plastic water bottles are used and discarded every day.
- In the UK, the average person gets through 150 bottles per year.
