Bring your learners to The Deep to experience amazing marine life and gain a greater insight into the aquatic world, suitable for all ages and abilities!

Educational visits are priced at £11 per learner, with free adult places at ratios 1:4 for EYFS, 1:6 for KS1/2 and 1:10 for KS3/4+.

Additional adult places are £20.50 per person. Please note, there is a minimum charge of £132 for groups of 12 learners or fewer. For SEND groups, the minimum charge is £88 for groups of 8 SEND learners or fewer. Education bookings do not qualify for the Annual Pass.

Prices are valid to August 2026.

FAQs

How does an online booking work?

You can check dates, availability and make a reservation for your group via this link.

Please book the number of Sea Labs (classrooms) you will require based on the number of learners you plan to bring. A Sea Lab can hold a maximum of 36 learners (excluding teachers/carers).

No payment is taken for your online booking, it just secures the date(s) you would like to make a visit.

Our Education Team will then be in touch with a follow-up email outlining further details.

Can I make changes to my booking?

Amendments such as a change in numbers, dates or workshop choices can be made up until 14 days prior to your visit.

What if I need to cancel my booking?

After you have made an online booking, our Education Team will send a follow-up email.

If you are unable to proceed with your booking, please let us know within 14 days of receipt of the follow-up email (sent by our Education Team).

After such time, your visit booking will be automatically confirmed.

Any cancellations made within 14 days of your visit date will still be required to pay in full.

How much does an Educational Visit cost?

Can learners use an Annual Pass for an Educational Visit?

No, our Annual Pass tickets are just valid for entry into the aquarium.

Do learners receive an Annual Pass as part of the visit?

No, Educational Visits are day admission only and do not include an Annual Pass upgrade.

How can I make payment?

Amendments such as change in numbers, dates or workshop choices can be made up until 14 days prior to your visit. At this point, a VAT invoice for your final numbers will be issued which includes The Deep's BACS details and payment will be required.

Is The Deep accessible?

The Deep is proud to be a fully accessible attraction, more details can be found on our Accessibility page.

The Deep's Education Team are happy to work with leaders to tailor any of our workshops to meet the needs of your individual group.

Please let a member of The Deep's Crew know if any learner finds The Deep's environment overwhelming. We can provide sensory packs which include ear defenders to borrow during your visit, or we can take you to a quiet space.

Can I book a preview visit?

Yes, free preview visits are valid for one leader per booking.

Please email education@thedeep.co.uk with the date and time you would like to visit, and if you are planning to bring anyone additional (they would be charged at our standard entry ticket price).

Is there coach parking?

Yes, parking is free of charge for coaches on our gravel car park. This is located off the mini roundabout on entrance to The Deep.

Coaches can drop learners off outside The Deep's entrance marked 'Learning Centre' where our Education Team will meet your group.

What happens if we are running early or late?

Please don't worry, just call us on 01482 381000 so our Education Team is aware and timetables can be adjusted accordingly.

If you arrive early, why not enjoy the views of the Humber estuary and take some group photos beside our shark statue before the doors open at 10am!

Do you have secure bag storage?

Yes, we will have designated baskets ready for your group on arrival which are code locked.

Please use these to store packed lunches and coats. We kindly ask that any large bags are left at school or on the coach.

Will we have a timetable for the day?

Yes, your day will include a self-guided tour of The Deep, a lunch break and an educational workshop.

Please be aware that we are unable to provide an itinerary in advance of your visit as these are so often subject to change. We cannot accommodate specific requests for timings as our schedule is arranged daily based on other groups within the aquarium at that time.

Your group will be issued a copy of your timetable and a map of The Deep when you arrive.

Can we go to the shop during our visit?

If you would like to visit the 'Deep-Artment Store' as part of your visit, please let us know in advance by emailing education@thedeep.co.uk so our team can schedule this into your itinerary.

Alternatively, for your ease, you are welcome to pre-order keepsakes or class stationery sets in advance as part of your online booking.

These will then be added to your invoice and provided to your group leader on the day.

What happens at lunchtime?

All members of your group will need to bring a packed lunch.

You will be given a 30-minute lunch sitting, generally between 11:30am-12pm and 12:20pm-12:50pm in our Other Plaice cafe.

Our Education Team will store all boxes/bags for you before and after your lunch in our secure baskets.

If you are bringing multiple classes, please be aware that you may not all be seated together and may have different lunch times.

Do you have a refill station?

Yes, we have a number of water refill stations around the building. Our Crew will be happy to point out the nearest.

Please encourage families to avoid bringing plastic bottles and instead bring along a refillable water bottle for your visit.
