Please note school visits may be modified at any time in compliance with COVID–19 regulations.

Booking Information

We have 4 classrooms available per day with a maximum of 36 pupils per classrom. (Excluding teachers/carers) 

Should your school have more than 36 students visiting you will need to book additional classrooms accordingly. 


Up to 36 students   - Book 1 classroom

37 - 72 students     - Book 2 classrooms

73 - 108 students   - Book 3 classrooms

109 - 144 students - Book 4 classrooms

If the appropriate number of classrooms are not booked your booking will be cancelled or will need to be moved to a different date in which appropriate space is available.

Special Educational Needs

Our qualified Learning Centre staff are available to discuss the most appropriate learning sessions for special needs groups. It is possible, with sufficient notice, to modify most learning sessions to meet individual requirements.

The Deep Shop

For schools wishing to bypass the shop, we can arrange goody bags - 2 options at £2.80 or £3.50 or activity sticker books for £3.50. Please order these before your visit. 


Payments must be paid in full at least 7 days prior to the date of your visit via BACS, credit card, cash or cheque. 


Risk Assessment

We have updated our Schools' Risk Assessment Notes to include all COVID-19 alterations. We conduct our own risk assessments and provide guidance for teachers visiting us. View The Deep's risk assessment.

Please ensure that you are informed of the new up to date guidance issued by the Department for Education in regards to health and safety on school trips.

Teacher Preview Visits

In order to make the most of your school visit we recommend that you take advantage of one of our teacher preview visits to familiarise yourself with the exhibits and our facilities.

Following your booking, please call our office on 01482 381000 to arrange the visit and we can book a timeslot for you and issue a complimentary ticket (one teacher per class visiting).

Opening Times

The Deep is open daily from 10am – 6pm Monday - Friday and 9am - 6pm weekends & school holidays (last entry 5pm)

Car parking is available at a cost of £3 for six hours. It can become full during school holidays – alternative car parks can be found here.
