We have been working hard to develop and adapt our educational offer to school groups in line with all current COVID–19 guidance.  As a result your day at The Deep will look quite different from school visits you may have taken here before.  By limiting the number of school visits per day we are now able to deliver an exciting new offer.

Every year, The Deep welcomes over 30,000 primary and secondary pupils to our purpose built Learning Centre. Let your students enjoy a unique and memorable experience as you travel from the beginning of time and into the future. Dive into exciting exhibits including our breath-taking coral reef at the Lagoon, interesting animal in our Slime exhibit, some of our biggest sharks in Endless Ocean and creatures of the Amazon in the Flooded Forest. To see more of what The Deep has to offer, take a look at our Deep tour.

Workshops, presentations and hands-on activities are delivered to groups from pre-school pupils to post sixteen by our team of experienced in house teachers. Find out all about our Primary School visits here with our digital guide. The guide maps out the whole day for you from start to finish and includes each of our fantastic Workshops. Please note - there will be changes to this programme, due to COVID-19.

We cover a wide selection of topics in all Key Stages, including Science, Geography, English, Citizenship, Maths and for older students Marketing, Customer Care and Travel and Tourism.

Places cost £8 per pupil which includes your choice of workshop relevant to your key stage (listed below). Please see our Bookings and Information section for further information.

Students can also enjoy our immersive Sea Labs. Learning spaces are complete with 84 inch interactive learning screens allowing students to get hands on with their studies, child friendly microscopes, infinity mirrors and multi-coloured sensory bubble tubes. All school trips include a workshop relevant to your pupils' Key Stage, time in The Deep visitor attraction, secure storage baskets for personal items and a lunch area if required.

To help prepare your students for their visit why not download our social story 'A day at The Deep: preparing for your visit'. Designed to help visitors plan and make the most of their visit with us, it's great for those students who might need a little extra help!
