*NEW for Spring 2017 - Washed Up Car-go*

If you are planning your visit between 29 March - 4 June, you may be interested in viewing our outdoor art installations, which are part of The Deep's collaboration with Hull 2017 on the 'Look Up' art series.

In the car park of The Deep are some cars that seem very ordinary - but when you look inside, you will find something very extra-ordinary...

The artist Chris Dobrowolski has transformed the inside of cars into beaches, using sand and stones he has collected from local beaches around Hull. Each car-beach has a high tide mark, the place where seaweed, shells - and often plastic pollution - washes up. Can you spot some plastic toys on the beach? The cars also have short films showing inside that you can see through the back windscreen - can you spot some things you recognise in the films?

The artwork is funny and unusual, but it also draws attention to how careful we all need to be about plastics and polluting our enviornment - escpecially the sea.

When the art project is finsihed, Christ will empty the beaches out, clean the cars and they will be driven away, to continue to being used. The equipment to show the films will be removed to be used in future art projects. We are not sure what will happen to the toys, but we know they won't be carelessly thrown away!

Please walk safely on the pavement to view this project and do not cross the roads of the car park.
