The Deep's Science Club runs during the Autumn and Spring terms on Wednesday afternoons from 3pm to 5pm. High schools from Hull, East Yorkshire, North and North East Lincolnshire are invited to take part in hands-on science activities delivered by qualified Deep staff.
The Deep remains closed in accordance with Government guidelines but is still taking enquiries for school visits from June 2021. Please email all enquiries to Education@thedeep.co.uk and a member of our education team will be in touch when we are open to discuss your visit.
This programme is scheduled when The Deep is quiet, when there are no other school groups and is ideal for:
- Inspiring young people to take a greater interest in science
- Giving young people an opportunity to ask questions and discuss scientific concepts to develop understanding
- Helping young people to improve their confidence in science
The subject areas that have been covered to date include adaptation, classification, animal care and the marine plastics problem. Science Club allows students the opportunity to spend time at the exhibits, observing the animals to help them understand scientific concepts.
