Dive into an inspiring inclusive weekend at The Deep, designed especially for the deaf community, in partnership with the University of Edinburgh.

Join us for a series of fascinating BSL-interpreted talks led by marine experts between 11am-2pm, bringing the wonders of our ocean habitats to life.

Learn new signs through the BSL marine species glossary, delivered by the University of Edinburgh's deaf science communicators. Launching in time for World Ocean Day (8th June), the glossary is the result of three years' work with deaf marine biologists, sign linguists and science educators, producing 87 new signs for marine animals and plants!

Enjoy additional hands-on sensory activities, ideal for making learning visual, immersive and accessible.

Throughout the weekend, you’ll find a welcoming, community-focused environment with opportunities to connect with marine science in a relaxed and engaging setting.

Everyone is welcome to attend; standard admission rates apply.
