From 25 June to 1 September 2026 (inclusive), as part of the Government’s Great British Summer Savings scheme, The Deep will pass on the majority of the VAT saving to visitors through reduced ticket prices, along with the full saving on all children’s meals served in The Plaice Café.
The Deep charges VAT on admission tickets (included within the ticket price). The temporary Government reduction lowers this rate from 20% to 5%. However, as a Charity, Gift Aid is very important to us and is calculated on the gross ticket price; reducing ticket prices also reduces the amount of Gift Aid we are able to claim in support of our charitable work.
For this reason, we have chosen to pass on the majority, but not all of the VAT saving on entry tickets. This means The Deep can remain financially neutral, protecting the income that supports our conservation work while still supporting your visit with lower prices.
Our mission is to inspire people to protect our shared ocean, thank you for joining us on our mission this summer and helping us achieve our conservation and education work.
You can find out more about the conservation work supported through visiting The Deep here.
Thank you for your continued support.
