We are pleased to be hosting our first ever, free to enter amateur photography competition! Enter now and help us showcase the amazing species housed at The Deep.
We are looking for 13 striking images which showcase our residents and their habitats which will go on to form a 2023 calendar which will be for sale in The Deepartment Store.
PLEASE NOTE: the theme of the competition is species within The Deep only.
There are 2 age categories within the competition -
Entrants can submit up to 3 images per category, with all photographs judged on the following criteria:
In the spirit of the competition, entrants must not be professional photographers.

Les Gibbon - Wildlife Photographer
Andy Doyle - Wildlife Artist, Search and Rescue Pilot
Jackson Sage - Project Manager for Humber Estuary European Marine Site at Humber Nature Partnership
Kira Mileham - Partnership Director - IUCN Species Survival Commission (International Union for the Conservation of Nature).

By submitting a form and images, entrants agree to the terms and conditions of the photography competition.

Join us every Tuesday (TERM TIME ONLY) for Tranquil Tuesdays. From 3pm until closing the lights will be brighter and the audio turned down, creating a tranquil environment for our visitors.
This event is perfect for those who prefer to visit during a quieter and more peaceful environment. Everyone is welcome to attend. Normal admission rates apply. PLEASE NOTE: Pre-booking is essential.
We have a range of aids available to hire free of charge for visitors with access needs including ear defenders, Braille guides, large print guides, MP3 audio guides, international language leaflets, rollators, electric mobility scooters and wheelchairs. Our access guide and social story can be viewed here.
The Deep is open daily from 10am – 6pm Monday - Friday and 9am - 6pm weekends & school holidays (last entry 5pm)
Car parking is available at a cost of £3 for six hours. It can become full during school holidays – alternative car parks can be found here.
