Quiet Day

Experience The Deep in a more tranquil environment on our upcoming Quiet Day on Wednesday 15 January.  

Throughout the day, the audio will be turned down for those who find the sounds distracting and the lights will be brighter to make our information more clear.

We also offer a full programme of BSL signed presentations and shows throughout the day.

We have two suggested arrival times for you to make the most of these signed presentations.

10am arrival

  • 10.10am - Introduction to Timeline
  • 10.30am - Touch pool
  • 11.30am - Penguin feed
  • 12.00pm - Lagoon feed
  • 12.30pm - Endless Oceans
  • 1.00pm - Cool Seas
  • 2.00pm - Dive Show (at Lagoon)

1pm arrival

  • 2.00pm - Dive Show (at Lagoon)
  • 2.30pm - Endless Oceans
  • 3.00pm - Cool Seas
  • 3.30pm - Penguin feed
  • 4.00pm - Lagoon feed
  • 4.30pm - Touch Pool

We also have a range of aids available to hire free of charge for visitors with access needs including ear defenders, Audio and Braille guides, large print guides, MP3 audio guides, international language leaflets, rollators, electric mobility scooters and wheelchairs. Normal admission charges apply and there is no need to book.

Tranquil Tuesdays

Join us on the 1st Tuesday of each month (TERM TIME ONLY) for Tranquil Tuesdays.

From 3pm until closing the lights will be brighter and the audio turned down, creating a tranquil environment for our visitors.

This event is perfect for those who prefer to visit a quieter and peaceful environment. Everyone is welcome to attend. Normal admission rates apply and there is no need to book.

Opening Times

  • Open daily from 10am until 6pm
  • Last admission is at 5pm, although we recommended you to arrive no later than 4pm
  • The Deep’s peak times are between 11am – 2pm, should you prefer a quieter environment please visit outside these times.
  • Car parking is available costing £3 for six hours. It can become full during school holidays. Alternative car parks can be found here

The Deep reserves the right to carry out random bag searches at reception. To minimise delays, please avoid bringing large bags and rucksacks into the attraction.
