I have a booking from during the lock down period what shall I do?

If you would still like to visit please keep your confirmation email then, you can then rebook through on the ticketing page using the promo code DPP2020, press submit and then enter the number of people visiting in the 'FREE' box. This will reserve your spaces without having to pay again. Alternatively if you would prefer a refund, please email with your confirmation number and the surname used for the booking and we will process a refund. Please note this can take up to 5 working days depending who you bank with and will be returned to the card which you paid with.

Will you be extending Day Plus Passes?

Yes. We are extending all current, valid Day Plus Passes by the length of time you have missed out on during closure, to ensure you don’t miss out.
This will be the case for both the March-July lock down, and the November-May lock down. Please email your name and postcode to and a member of our crew will confirm your new expiry date.

Will you be restricting the number of visitors?

Yes. We will continue to open with reduced visitor numbers each day to ensure that our building remains safe and social distancing can be maintained. All visitors will need to book a date and and a timeslot for their visit (including Day Plus Pass holders) online. 

Will all of your daily activities still be on?

Our daily schedule will be amended to ensure a safe visit for everyone. To avoid crowds gathering we will be unable to present the feeds, touch pools and dive shows. However our guiding team will be delivering talks throughout the day about our animals and the conservation work we do.

Will we need to wear face coverings to visit The Deep?

The Government expects and recommends the public to wear face coverings in crowded areas. As an indoor attraction, The Deep recommend visitors to wear a face covering unless exempt. Please check current Government advice regarding the wearing of face coverings and exemptions and bring one on your visit.

Will there be hand sanitiser?

Yes. We will have hand sanitiser stations throughout the building along the one way system. Sanitiser is also available in all toliets, cafe and retail facilities.

Will the play area be open?

The soft play area will remain closed to facilitate social distancing and will provide additional sanitising stations for visitors.

Will I need to register for Track & Trace for my visit? "Businesses are also encouraged to continue displaying QR codes for customers wishing to check in using the NHS COVID-19 app, or to continue collecting customer contact details to support NHS Test and Trace, however this will no longer be a legal requirement."

The Deep will continue to display QR codes around the building for those visitors wanting to support test & Trace.

Opening Times

The Deep is open daily from 10am – 6pm Monday - Friday and 9am - 6pm weekends & school holidays (last entry 5pm)

Car parking is available at a cost of £3 for six hours. It can become full during school holidays – alternative car parks can be found here.
