The Deep's Science with Bite sessions run during the Autumn, Spring and Summer terms on Wednesday afternoons from 3pm to 5pm. Sessions are FREE and can be booked as a single, one off session.
High schools from East Yorkshire, North and North East Lincolnshire are invited to take part in hands-on science activities delivered by The Deep's qualified teaching crew.
This programme is scheduled at a quiet time, when there are no other school groups visiting and is ideal for:
- Inspiring young people to take a greater interest in science
- Giving young people an opportunity to ask questions and discuss scientific concepts to develop understanding
- Helping young people to improve their confidence in science
The subject areas that have been covered to date include adaptation, classification, animal care and the marine plastics problem. Science with Bite sessions allows students the opportunity to spend time at the exhibits, observing the animals to help them understand scientific concepts to develop their understanding.
