Today, 23rd March 2023, marks an incredible 21 years since The Deep’s first opening. Reflecting back on our 20th anniversary year, we are pleased to report that we did welcome our 9 millionth visitor and organised some incredibly successful events to celebrate the anniversary of our opening.
Looking ahead to 2023, we are excited to be hosting some new school holiday events, and to continue working closely alongside our partners.
The Deep's Deputy Chief Executive, Neil Porteus, said: “Having started working on The Deep project as far back as 1996, I'm delighted that it has been such a success and will be eternally proud of my own contribution to that success (which continues to this day); and for being part of the truly amazing team that was so dedicated in delivering something that is held in such high regard, both nationally and internationally.”
We are thankful to continue to welcome so many visitors, both new and returning, through our doors, and to provide an inspiring and educational visit to many generations.
