Lifestyle is an incredible initiative that empowers young people to make a real difference in their communities. Since its founding in 1989, Humberside Police's Lifestyle initiative has grown into one of the UK's most enduring and impactful youth engagement programmes. Over the past 36 years, more than 195,000 young people have taken part, dedicating their summer holidays to improving lives and strengthening communities across the region.
From awareness campaigns to cleaning up public spaces, from raising money for charities to supporting community centres, from creating memorials to leaving Kindness rocks, from raising money for a defibrillator to helping out at care homes, from road safety campaigns to donating care packages- the list of young people's amazing summer actions is inspiring.
The Lifestyle! Awards evening celebrated the incredible young people of Humberside who are truly dedicated to Making a Difference in their communities. 2025 saw over 500 people registered, over 5000 hours spent helping communities and a phenomenal £29,800 raised for charity.
A huge well done goes to all the young people involved in the challenge, and congratulations to all the fantastic finalists and winners!
