The Deep is proud to be part of a national network of science and discovery centres, known as the Association for Science and Discovery Centres.
Last year more than 5.2 million people visited their local science and discovery centre, enabling children, families and communities across the UK to engage with and be inspired by interactive, practical and relevant science and technology.
We're all doing amazing work to engage as many people as possible in science, but did you know that the UK’s science and discovery centres are largely excluded from the public funds that support similar organisations? The Science Centres for Our Future campaign is seeking to change this.
We are calling on the Government to recognise science and discovery centres as part of the UK’s scientific and cultural ecosystem, and provide funding for our sector’s infrastructure needs, similar to that available to comparable organisations including museums, libraries, arts and heritage.
Please support the #ScienceCentresForOurFuture national campaign to enable millions of other children and teachers to come to The Deep.
The time for science and discovery is now, please sign and share the open letter to help protect the future of hands-on science.
